Grab your sunglasses and sunscreen and join the fight against cancer as the Relay For Life of Torrance returns on May 9, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Now in its 24th year, this inspiring community event—featuring this year’s theme, “Curechella”—brings a music festival and street fair atmosphere to Downtown Torrance (Sartori Avenue & El Prado).
The day begins with a Survivor Breakfast at 9:30 AM, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 11:00 AM. Be sure to bring your furry friends for the Bark For Life at 3:00 PM, celebrating the special role pets play in our lives. And don’t miss the Luminaria ceremony at 8 pm.
Cancer touches nearly every family—whether it’s a spouse, parent, sibling, friend, or even ourselves. The encouraging news: according to the American Cancer Society, the five-year survival rate for all cancers combined has reached approximately 70%, the highest in history. Since 1991, cancer mortality has declined significantly, translating to millions of lives saved—progress fueled in part by fundraising efforts like Relay For Life.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event and the largest peer-to-peer cancer fundraising program in the world. Communities come together to honor survivors, remember loved ones, and take action. Funds raised support groundbreaking research, 24/7 patient support, access to screenings, and critical programs for those facing cancer.
The Hollywood Riviera Sportsman’s Club proudly continues its long-standing participation, with Igor Nastaskin serving as team captain for the 19th consecutive year. To date, the team has raised approximately $210,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Getting involved is easy—you can walk the track, join a team, or simply make a donation.
To join the Hollywood Riviera Sportsman’s Club team (all are welcome) or to donate to the fundraiser, contact Igor Nastaskin at 310-892-6016 or inastaskin02@gmail.com.

Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law, and contributions are accepted through the summer.
Let’s come together to fight back against cancer—and give those we love more tomorrows.
